Alexis Gibson is a photographer, filmmaker and creative director.
She bought herself her first 35mm camera at age 15 and began her studies at Kent Place School in Summit, New Jersey, which afforded her many opportunities to visit New York City's art institutions at an early age. She did further coursework in the New York and Washington DC metro areas before deciding to pursue creative expression as a career with her admittance into American University’s graduate School of Communication.
She completed her studies with the Czech photographer Miroslav Vojtechovsky, previously professor at FAMU Prague, receiving her MFA in Film and Electronic Media in 2005. Her MFA thesis film, 888 Days x 2, was selected for participation in the 46th Brno 16 International Festival of Short Films and 8th Belo Horizonte International Short Film Festival. She has lived in Tokyo, Prague, New York City, Washington, DC and currently makes Orlando her home.
